Dover East Elementary

Welcome to Dover East Elementary
East Elementary School is recognized as a Hall of Fame school in the state of Ohio. The school is proud of the fine tradition of academic experiences, which are provided to our students during their primary educational years. Students at East Elementary School are exposed to a fine array of curriculum selections, which coincide with a variety of music, cultural arts, and recreation activities.
During the school year 2011 our students continued to score well on the State Achievement tests for Grades 3, 4 and 5. They achieved an Excellent Rating for 2011.
An abundance of more than 50 community volunteers has provided supplemental support to our staff and students to ensure complete learning opportunities for success. Jeremy Salvo became our twelfth State Champion in Handwriting. The Fourth Grade students hosted eighty-three veterans at our eighth annual Veterans' Appreciation brunch in order to provide them a better understanding of the benefit of our freedom.
Our school houses 500 students in grades Kindergarten through Five. A staff of 47 professionals blends experience and enthusiasm to meet all of the students' needs. In addition to several enhancement programs, our school offers supplemental help in reading, math, speech and language skills. The PTG and community volunteers provide an extra benefit to the students' academic, social and recreational growth. The PTG has a goal to improve our playground area with new equipment and a walking path to increase personal health awareness. Extra-curricular activities include Student Council, Science Fair, Just Say No Club and Accelerator Reading, in addition to band, orchestra and basketball for the fifth grade students.
